Default modded ls2 into a ls1 info search

Hi guys I have a 04 monaro cv8 over here in the uk.
ive been offered a ls2 with cam and clutch upgrade.
Ive been searching for info but the uk is limited
I seem to have found some info but my tech knowledge is limited so looking for info.
If any of what I put is wrong please feel free to correct me or advise otherwise.


Ive been told to keep my ls1 manifold and injectors,but to upgrade the actual injectors.
Keep my knock sensors but retap a larger thread to use my ls1 1 wire sensors instead of the ls2 ones.
This means I keep my cable operated throttle body too
Will it run like this to get it to someone to map it ??
Ive been told it could be 24x or 58x reluctor, any way of finding out ??


any other info appreciated

Crank sensor determines 24x or 58x. One is grey, one is black.
You can use your LS1 intake/injectors and throttle.
You can use the LS2 knock sensors with some minor changes, no need to drill/tap.

Worst case, the LS2 is 58x which leaves you with a few options.
1. You can use the crankshaft out of the LS1 to convert it back to 24x
2. You can buy a 24x reluctor wheel and have it installed.
3. You can buy a conversion box that lets you run a 58x wheel with a 24x computer.
4. You can get rid of the stock ECU and run an aftermarket one that works with the 58x.

so easy to determine crank sensor colour then .. that's good.
ill keep my manifold if poss. saves me changing wiring and its got lpg too so I can keep that.
id rather go for something where I don't have to strip it down. ive seen the lingenfelter convertors
id rather keep my ecu if possible so a remap needed then
I was told ls1 are 1 wire ls2 are 2 wire. so best to fit my 1 wire ones.
