Default My 63 Impala 5.3/4l60e swap

I read alot of threads on these xframe ls swaps before I attempted it and it seemed like most people had problems and ended up fabricating a lot of thing. Pretty much got My 5.3 swap done in My 63. 43 days start to finish working on it during the weekends. Pretty straight forward swap I used ebay swap plates to move the engine 2.25" forward So I wouldnt have to modify the drive shaft and run into trans tunnel clearance issues. I used the ebay s10 headers, fbody oil pan and cut down the stock fan shroud so I could utilize the 5.3 clutch fan as I didn't want to mess with electric fans. Shaved the truck intake. I haven't put the hood on yet but looks like everything is going to clear the hood except for the alternator. I will get a smaller one. I had to massage the front crossmember for oil pan clearance as well.

Dirty Dingo makes a few different brackets to move the alternator down. Here is one example: http://www.dirtydingo.com/shop/produ...oducts_id=1463

Thanks Texas62! Superdave84, $250 for that ugly bracket? No thank you. The S10 alternator is a direct swap and is 2" in diameter smaller. If that doesn't get Me the needed hood clearance I''l be chopping up the truck bracket to lower the alternator even more.

A guy traded Me his small case alternator for my large case alternator. Hood shuts. Plenty of clearance
