Default Microsquirt LQ4 Rock crawler

For those that think microsquirt is too hard to build and tune, I built this harnes for a buddies rock crawler. LQ4 228 cam. Going to install the harness tomorrow and start tuning. It uses the EFI source IAC controller. Easy to add to a micro harness. Original gm harness was done buy another guy and it's messed up. He used a ecm that lacked the IAC controller chip, loaded a 03 Yukon DBW file and it would idle anywhere from 500 to 2300 rpm, randomly. I replaced the PCM with a 2003 PCM that had the IAC chip and loaded a 03 express van DBC file. Scanner still would not control idle so the harnes was wired wrong. We evaluated the time involved to tearing apart the factory harness and troubleshooting it. End result was it was Easier for us to run Microsquirt as later a turbo is in the works.

Either step up the quality or get out of the business.

So I removed the modified factory harness and did a short vid of the issues I found with it.

Too bad for the local craigslist harness modifier; he also runs a local dyno and LSx shop. His work stinks.

Goes to show you that you don't always get what you pay for.

Running on Microsquirt now. Slow cranking as battery was a bit low.

Updated post with a startup video! Buddy is going to bleed brakes as there are none. Then tidy up a few loose ends on his side and then we will start street tuning it in 2 weeks.

Well cause it is simple........

After 15 years of tuning literally a thousand or so cars and over 40 years electronics experience in the military and private companies, it does get a bit easier and quicker.
