Default Cruise control switch for dbw swap

So I have been looking for a switch for cruise control on my chevelle swap. I have searched to see what others have used. I saw some have used the digital Dakota switch but you have to add relays. I was wondering if anyone had tried the rostra precision controls switch? https://m.summitracing.com/parts/rpc-250-3020
Also open to other ideas.

Rostra switches are the same as Dakota Digital they're both normally open and will require relays to reverse them. The only aftermarket switche I am aware of that doesnt require relays is the DD dash mounted one.

What about modifying a switch from 80s Chevy Truck with the wiper and cruise control switch on the turn signal.
I read about someone using the turn signal switch from late 80s early 90s camaro. I can't find the thread anywhere.

Ive seen that done before and it works but doesnt look the best. What you need is a lever from an 81--84 chevy truck or an 81 chevy van, but they're getting pretty hard to find these days.

Could you buy the digital Dakota switch or the rostra switch and change the inside of the switch. The same way you have to change the inside of the 81-84 truck to the 4 wire switch?

Unfortunately no, they're completely different switches.

So I found a couple switches at the junk yard, trying to find 4 wire switches. Will the cheap one from any of the parts stores work for the 4 wire guts?

Can you post a pic of the switches you found? I usually grab the 4 wire switches out of other levers while at the yard. I have a small write up on the 67-72 chevy truck forum. If you need it I can send you a link.

I saw your write up I took the guts out of a 1995 Chevy suburban it is 4 wires

These are the 2 switches I found

This is the pig tail that was in the 95 suburban it's different than the gen 4 camaro but I think it still should work.

Let me know what you think also going to try to maybe repaint the letters on the lever so you can see them.

Looks like you're on the right track, those are the pieces you need. You did good by finding two of them, I cant seem to find them around here any more, I guess I've cleaned the yards of them! Anyway, since you saw the write up you know how I do them, but the only thing I do differently now is find a long single q ire and resolder them directly to the switch, it makes for a cleaner job.

As for painting the lettering, I never had any luck with it so I had these stickers made. You need to paint the black part so that its dark and better matches, but it makes them look really nice. If you want one I can sell you one for 3 bucks shipped.

Pink-Ignition power
Gray-On/Off
Green-Resume/Accel
Blue-Set/Coast

Cool I decided about trying to find a sticker. Since you already have one I'll buy one pm your PayPal. Also I'm going to look for more switches incase others are looking for them as well. Thanks for your help hopefully I'll have it wired up tomorrow.

I wired the pigtailed the way you said and got everything all wired up today. I'm guessing the switch is bad because the cruise doesn't work. I'm hoping to get some time to troubleshoot it tomorrow.
I tested with test light to make sure there is power with all the switch functions. So I'm thinking it's not the switch it's something else. I used the 3 wires that psiconversions left for the cruise.

If you're getting power at all three functions then its not the switch. First things first, do you have regular brake light bulbs or LEDs? Also, do you have a dual brake light switch with the four prongs, and are both wires to them hooked up?

It's cool that you guys are doing this, I'm wanting to add CC to my speartech harness but don't understand why their switch is $400. Going to hit the yards sometime and try to find something that will work.

Yes I have regular filament bulbs, also I have the tcc brake switch from psiconversions. Its wired the way psi says to wire it. So I'm not sure I'm going to call psi tomorrow.

Theres two brake switch wires, one to the PCM that needs power when the brakes are not applied, and one from the TAC that needs power when the brakes are applied. Do you have both of them hooked up?

I have the wires hooked up and wired correctly I think. I called psi they said its probably not working because I have a P0706 code about the PRNDL switch. Which is something that they were supposed to flash out before they sent me the pcm. So I'll see if getting that removed if it fixes the cruise.
