Default mickey thompson ss

i am completing my car now i will be driving the car only in dry weather. one drive will be about 30 miles one way. after reading some reviews here and elsewhere i am leaning to the mt ss tires over the nittos.

my size is 255 60 15. what are your thoughts on this tire? also do folks typically run the same brand of tire on the front? i have some centerline 15x7 centerlines coming in? what size tire should i run in the front?

also where is the best place to buy mickeys? best place i have found so far is summit

I have heard nothing but bad things about the nittos vs mickeys.

Fronts are up to you. Unless your rolling 130+, I probably wouldnt buy anything extra special other than just good street tires.

Summit does seem to have the best prices I have seen too.

So you are saying Nittos thumbs down compared to the Mickeys? I am currently running a 255 tire in BF Goodrich and it is tight between the inner fender and wheel well. I am afraid this car is going to to be a burnout king. If I were to try to go to a bit taller tire would that help hook up?

What is the best way to determine the max tire size I can run?

Who should I be asking these questions to, if this is not the place? Thanks for the help.

I haven't run the MT SS tire, but I have run the ET Street Radial and compared to the Nitto NT05R, it's a lot better. I got more miles and better traction with the MT's.

My best 60ft on the Nittos was 1.94
My best 60ft on the MT's was 1.78

I switched to Hoosier DOT Radials and got 1.67 60ft for what it's worth..

Can you be more specific on which Hoosiers you are running? Their website was lacking a bit on finding there drag radials.

I am running a 255 60 15 and it is tight on width. I don't think I can go any wider, but might be able to go taller to prevent wheel spin. How does one measure how tall of a tire they can go?

255 60 15 MT's is a great tire. I don't think your going to find a taller tire in a good drag radial that doesn't go wider at the same time.

I run a 275 60 rear and a 225 70 front. 2 things I wanted was it filled the front wheel well better then the 235 60 I had and it was the proper height for my suspension. even look then a rake. 1" rake can change lower control arm angles in the rear. I go mid 130's 60'

I ran the MT ss this summer, they are an awesome tire IMO I daily drove on them. However they don't like burnouts at all lasted me 4000 miles haha.
