Hi Michael
Can I ask the question, was this deal completed and paid for, I use to sell new heavy equipment ranging in price from $25K to several hundred thousands of dollars and we had a saying “deal isn’t done till the moneys in the bank”
No doubt your car is very nice and has tasteful modifications with a keen eye to details.
Not saying this in the case of your car but I am a member of several forums of my interest and hobbies from mini bikes, dirt bikes, and classic cars and it seems the BAT website seems to be getting very top dollar for items on its website, I am probably going to be selling my 1966 LS2 & T56 swapped GTO here in the near future and have been considering the best place to try and sell it, was thinking of Barrett Jackson, Mecum or BAT, thanks in advance for your reply.
Paid in full, title signed over -- pickup of vehicle to occur in a few weeks. LOTS of work goes into a successful BAT auction. If you want to discuss - shoot me a message and we'll chat by phone. You can see from the comments, mine was a very successful auction.

Thank You for the reply, when I get closer to making a decision on selling (hard to let go of something after 25+ years, but reality is setting in) (any sellers remorse on your part yet?) I will definitely be in touch, congratulations and again Thank You

I get it. I had mine for 23 years. I can see the time coming when I won't be able to work on them the way I'd like....so I knew it was time to move it along to its next steward. And the buyer is just a prince of a guy....it's going to a great home. So I'm really excited to have/form a new relationship with the next owner. No remorse.
Haven't visited in a while - doubt anyone's following this old thread. Mid '24 I was diagnosed with an arachnoid cyst in my skull. Benign.....surgery to drain a complete success. I mention because of my comment above "I can see the time coming when I won't be able to work on them the way I'd like...." Turns out almost everything I was experiencing was because of the growing cyst. Now that it's no longer an issue - I'm back to feeling my old self while working on the cars! Great news that. Bad news - I had already sold both of my vintage cars thinking that what i was experiencing was just due to getting older. No remorse -- but there will be another build before I'm done!

Thanks for the update and the great news about your health!
Hopefully we'll see more builds from you in the near future.

Man! Quite the deal with the cyst episode! Glad it all worked out (or drained out...) for you!
Can't wait to see what's gonna be cooking up in your garage next!
Thanks guys! Lots of ideas - a move is in our future, out of Charlotte (becoming Atlanta) and to someplace smaller, likely back to east TN. I'll wait til I get there to begin, although if the right candidate comes along, might snag it/store it for a bit. Hopefully the move in '26.

Michael, I'm glad to hear that you're all healed up and back to your pre-cyst self. It now sounds like you've got some big changes coming. Good luck on the move and finding your next project car!
wow, that's great news. congrats on the recovery, i'm sure that's a wonderful feeling.
sure you dont want to end up in the SC foothills? no inspection or emissions over here
LOL - running joke with my wife....I can be cruising down a road in, say, NORTH freaking DAKOTA, she's dozing in passenger seat, I hit a bump, and without opening her eyes she says "did we just cross into South Carolina?" I could probably make SC work, but she can't. Coming up on 52 years - I'm probably gonna live with her decision on that. I like the upstate - but I HATE I85 and all the growth/congestion that has occurred there. Besides, the tax benefits to being in TN win over SC too.
How did I not know you were in SC? Which city? My best friend lives in Duncan - although I think work and his wife are about to take him to FL.
Edit - oh, the parts of TN we're looking at don't have safety or emissions inspections either.

I've got siblings that live just outside Columbia, SC and on the water in very pricey, Charleston, SC.
Michael, what project car are you interested in building? I'm currently working on my LS427/570, Tremec T56 Magnum F swapped, 28,xxx mile, 1987 IROC Z Camaro. I'm well into the project and I really need to start a build thread on it.

i'm near clemson, so dont have to deal with the I85 congestion much. we spend a lot of time in north georgia, NC, TN, and the SC foothills so it was a good spot for us to land. i feel for all of my GA friends though because many of them do have to deal with emissions
Michael, after just being down that road myself, I can certainly understand what you went through. Happy for your recovery and to see the hot rod spirit hasn't faded.

Actually, I think mine was mild compared to what you were (are?) dealing with, so, folks like you are an inspiration for me. Hopefully, hot rod spirit will never fade - I just may have to find someone I can trust and throw the checkbook at building/maintaining for me. But not just yet! In addition to selling the Volvo and the Corolla, I sold my DD Mazda 3 and bought a new ('24) GR Corolla. Little turbo 3 banger - really enjoying it. I can take it to cruise-ins, daily it and maintenance is pretty reasonable. Now if this system would just let me edit my profile.....which it doesn't seem to want to do.

Both mine were old enough that I didn't have to deal with emissions or safety inspections even here in NC.

Not sure what I'll do next. Highly likely it will be small, German or Japanese, and vintage (70's). Stuff an LS in it, or a turbo K-swap, maybe a Toyota or Honda V6 -- time will tell. Of course, stiffen the unibody, different and appropriate suspension/brakes/wheels/tires. I'm 6'3" and grew up in the muscle car era -- and I like small imported cars. What can I say. I guess when the first road race you get to see as a 9 year old is the 1000KM sports car race at the old Nurburgring (1963) - that kind of sets the course for the rest of your life.
Picture worth a thousand words....and yes, the top of my brain stem/spinal column looks like a screaming chicken inside my skull. May have that tattoo'd on my arm.
You can guess which part shouldn't be there. Shave, incise, drill a hole, pop in the endoscope and "pop the balloon" from the inside/out.
