My engine didn't have a MAF so I'm now looking to purchase one. Are all 5-wire MAF's the same or do I need to buy on the one specifically from my model and year?

I find them for all different prices so I was curious if they're all electronically the same, can I shop on price?

Simple answer is no. Different MAFS may have different frequency ranges and flow rates. I would buy one to match your PCM unless you have access to change the tables in it.
