Props to you. I have been waiting for someone to attempt an ls 997. I personally have a 996 vert with a sprayed 6.0L that i built. Always wanted to do a 997.

Nice swap, definitely subscribing. I know all those nickel and dime replacement parts are expensive for anything Porsche!

Well all my goodies and 243's arrived today and was starting off as a good day until the damn valve spring compressor snapped the center bolt while my fingers were putting the keepers into the valve. Didn't break any bones, maybe small fracture but hurts like hell and won't be doing much with that hand for a couple of days.

Also found that I got the wrong head studs which I need to exchange.

So to recap. Broken bolt in head, wrong head bolts and fubar'd fingers. On the positive side I'm lucky I did not have my face and head over the spring when it shot out like a bullet..

Check into rotor upgrades. I'm not sure about the narrow body cars but the turbo cars have 330mm rotors and can goto 350 with just new rotors and a spacer for the caliper. 380 can be done but requires different calipers to be done corrrectly. 330mm and good pads stop very well, 350 adds some heat dissipation. There's plenty of ducting etc. available to cool them too

Been awhile since my last update and now have some time over the upcoming holidays to work on the swap. Engine was finished a couple weeks ago and I spoke with Eric at A&E this morning for my adapter and I pulled the trigger for him to fabricate. Lead-time is about 3 weeks so I should be receiving early next year. meanwhile I plan to work on the electrical and plumbing.

Couple pics of the engine. I have not purchased the intake yet and holding off for a Fast 90 or Dorman LS2 with LS6 runner (newly developed and hitting shelfs in January)

Who is the A&E that is making your adapter?

See link below on details about A&E. They have done adapters for 996's and various kit cars. Mine will be the 1st 997 adapter but differences between a G96 and G97 in terms of the plate will be minimal.

Eric is a great guy!

He machined and powder coated a custom splined steering wheel hub for my '51 LSX project. Did exactly what he supposed to on time and without hiccups.

I'd go to him too for Porsche / LS engine adapters.

Cool, good to see there is more than one game in town for a adapter.

Project update and more to come in the upcoming weeks now that I have some time off and will be receiving the engine adapter early next year.

Brakes and suspension all sorted out from the damage occurred during the accident. Car will need a serious alignment job once everything is put together as the camber, toe and alignments are all over the place..

Ended up having to pull out the AWD differential as it appears when the left front wheel and strut where ripped out the CV joint and flange pulled out from the differential and smacked a hole the size of a quarter into the lower case.

Lucky no internal damage and just need to weld a patch. This will give me an excuse the replace all the seals while I have it apart.

Lucky the tub not being tweeked or the front diff being broken, the patch is easy. Good to see you back on it.

Yea I am thinking the previous owner must have lost control and went over a curb or 2. The rims were pretty banged up and the front suspension broke at the control arm. The tub and subframe are good, did find some small dents and minor crushing on the rear driver floor board that can easily be fixed with a hammer once I pull the interior

And the guys down at Profab did an excellent job welding up my trans. They have been my go-to guys for all my welding and I will be taking my power steering and A/C lines once my fittings arrive.
