Default 67 chevelle. Lsx 454

Bought me a 67 with a 396. Been updating it over the last month in my garage.

So far :

Lsx 454 GMPP with MSD6ls and Holley 950 street
TCI 700r4 with 2800 converter lock up
Air conditioning
Aluminum rad with dual electric fans
CPP performance complete front and rear suspension with 12 bolt 3.73
New custom interior with Dakota dash
Baer 14 in 6 piston dish brakes up front.

Almost done with interior and then going to work on paint and body issues.

Well....a lot of people poopoo on it because it uses the heavier LSx block. But if you look at the price, it's hard to argue with a 600+ HP engine for about $10K. Seems like a smoking deal to me.

What would 10 grand buy you on a big block 454? I'd prefer the old school approach if the car already had a big block and was staying carbed. Nothing looks better than a big block IMO.

Car does look really nice OP.

Nice swap. How long do you exspect thatTh700R4 to last?... I would think the 3.73's would be usless. 3.42s 3.23 or even 3.08s with the low 1st gear and all that torque of the LSX454.

Please let "US" know what you think of this motor/setup,

Nice build! I love the old school diamond stitching on the seats! That motor should scream.

I hope it holds up long enough. It's a TCI rated for 800hp. I'll keep everyone posted on the performance. We just got wacked by a hurricane so people are a little busy now with other stuff. Hopefully some more progress next week.

Except the flex hose. Idk why I hate those with every ounce of my soul.

Take a little time and hunt the local parts store for a molded hose that fits, looks sooooo much nicer imo. Leave the flex for dirt track dudes lol

On my 71 Chevelle out of the box with LS7 intake and throttle body, 2" headers we had 480 at the wheels. A card should net another 30-40 HP.

It's not so much the carb that boosts power, but the single plane intake vs. LS7 intake. I also bet the single plane intake reduces torque down low, compared to the LS7 intake.

so I've finally been able to drive the car with the new transmission set up. The car is coming along good. I still have some billet pieces to put on the car and I bought some QA1 adjustables for the front and a willwood hydra boost system. Today I cruised for a while on the interstate and noticed a vibration at 80 but not when u load it. Not sure what that is yet but overall very happy with the car and my hard work. At 50 if u want to blister the tires you can just with a twitch of the right foot. Here's a short walk up video.

hope it works.

Ok guys. Made some good progress. Got the qa1 shocks and springs in and all the billet pieces from ring bros installed. Also had the car on the dyno. It's made 498 at the wheels and 460 tq. We ran out of fuel pump on the big end. The tuner thinks with a larger fuel pump and moving it closer to the tank we will be able to take down the AF ratio from the 13.5 right now. He also things there's another 30-40hp left in it. Starting to enjoy this car more and more every day

Nice numbers, I can see these being a good reason you can light the tires up at 50.
Is that center console with the 4 big Mercs yours ? Holy crap!
