Default Want more performance and improvements in Horse Power

How can i get more power, I am just trying to get more ideas and info to get guided in the right direction for more power out of my setup, I have a 1994 C 1500 short bed single cab originally had a 5.7 liter I did a LS swap from a 2012 Texas Edition Silverado with a 5.3 liter and also with a 6-speed transmission that came with it , I have short tube headers and it has a pretty good tune, right now it only spins one tire so I want to install the Eaton Detroit Truetrac Differential and maybe change the shortys with some long tube headers and an X-pipe installed , any other ideas or mods I can do to get more power out of my setup. I use it as a daily driver but also Street truck for street races

Camshaft swap and torque converter swap will make huge difference in performance.

Heads, cam, intake, exhaust and tune, improve each element.....make more power, go faster. Oh yeah......reduce weight where you can.

I also have a really clean 1996 Z71 Chevy truck but 20 years ago swapped in a low mileage LT1 from a Corvette. It's a great runner but I wish I would have waited and gone with a LS motor so I could add a turbo. I still might swap in a used 5.3 and turbo it. It is the biggest bank for your buck and these trucks have a lot of under hood space for it.

BTW, good advice above regarding adding a posi carrier and quality torque converter. My truck has 3.42's / 700R4 with a stall and Auburn pro posi. The (2) latter additions made a big difference. With your 6 speed auto you may not need the stall as much.

I'm in the process of putting a warmed over LT1 out of a ImpalaSS (95 Got it for free) in my 94 1500SWB truck. The reason i chose it was because everything fits. ported heads 1.6 roller rockers Howard Cam. Should move the little truck right along...
