need advice on exhaust flanges.
i'm looking for a way to use my stock '01 camaro manifolds with the large flanges for my conversion without a lot of expense. i've got the clearance for the manifolds but from reading the threads, it looks like the exhaust shops won't have the flanges on the pipe side to build the system. should i be roaming the junkyards for used pieces or is there an easier way without a lot of expense?? thanks.

In addition to having them lazer cut, you could also get them waterjet cut.
Around here a pair of quarter inch flanges would be a about $20

I cut my own out of 1/4" mild steel and they bent and leaked like crazy when I tightened them down. I ended up welding the flanges right to the manifold to get it to seal. I think that finding the cats and cutting them off sounds like the easiest to get a good looking (and well sealing) joint. I want to get headers sooner or later, so welding the manifolds up really didn't bother me. It's possible to remove the manifolds, it's just a PITA.
