TechFlex wire harness wrap?

Didn't use that particular brand but used similar braided sleeving on my car. I love the stuff. Used the split sleeving and held it together with velcro cable wraps. Made it super simple to add a new wire to the harness.
Military radars use the same wrap on their cable bundles. Good stuff.

I've used Flexo F6. ( www.wirecare.com) Extremely easy to use. it comes in colors too.

Heat up a razor blade and cut it on something hard like a piece of glazed tile maybe? I've got some cheap braided covering and I've been known to just let a lighter get close to it but I think a hot blade might work better? Are you supposed to use some sort of nichrome cutter?

Didn't have a fraying issue with the I think Jegs brand nylon wrap I used.
Been 8+ years so can't remember the brand.
Would think a few seconds with a heat gun would take care of it
If you get the basic round tubing make sure it is nylon and not plastic. Nylon doesn't get brittle with age.

What are you guys doing at junction points for this stuff. I taped mine with good electrical tape and it looks ok, but I feel there should be a better solution. I would think heat shrink would look best, but then you have to put it on before any connectors are put on, and not to mention you cant forget a wire....

For sealing I bought a hot wire / rope cutter and it makes quick work of the cutting / sealing task. It's much faster and more accurate than any other method. I attached mine to a foot pedal so it's only on when I need it.
I use heat shrink or small same colour zip ties at the ends and or joints.

Sort of a related question... I'm looking for something to protect the coolant temp sensors from header heat. Something like a high temp / insulating version of the braided split wrap would be perfect. Any suggestions?

For cutting the F6, Iused a cheap utility blade and heated it up. when it git dull, I snapped it off to the next blade.
WIRCARE has higher temp covers too. Split and one pc. you really need to get on their site and look.

I've only used Painless Powerbraid, I feel like a dumbass for never looking on McMaster's website. On some ends I used heat shrink but on others I left it. It stays frayed but doesn't continue to fray the older it gets. Also some other ends I used regular electrical tape.
I saw on TV they were using something similar and had a heat shrink electrical tape. Not sure where to get that it may work out well for this
