fired it up for the first time today. just to check the systems and make sure I didn't screw the motor up too bad, haha. ran great. need to work on the tune and wrap a few small things up like exhaust
also got the Airaid 4" intake tube finally. cut out the piece I needed and finished the cold air intake setup. pretty happy with it

Thanks. I'll have to see if I still have the receipt. Just the standard 8" 4L60E shifter. Came with offset arms for the linkage. Works great
Broke in the motor today after getting the tune decent. It's scoots pretty good. These old bfg radial t/a's are terrible, haha. Blows them off at half throttle. Love the 4k stall. Hits the power band perfect. Will get some video tomorrow

Hawaii is weird with car parts. I couldn't find a decently priced 8.8 for a few weeks. Then today I picked up a 1999 Ford Explorer 8.8 rear end for free. It also came with the whole vehicle which got sent to scrap. It is the "D4" code so that means it has 3.73 gears with a limited slip. Disc brakes to boot. These rear ends have 31 spline axles
I also picked up 3 short side axles. This gives me two full sets as I'll be cutting 3" out of the long side and running two short axles. Once the long tube is shortened, it winds up 3/8" narrower than the Nova 10 bolt.
So I'll get it stripped down tomorrow and over to the chassis guy to shorten the one tube.
Then it's time to move the leaf springs inward 2" and mini tub it.

got the long side shortened and tubes welded to the center section.
going to leave the car alone until august or september. that's when the rainy season starts. it'll take a while to do the mini tub, relocate leafs, order wheels and tires, etc so I might as well take advantage of the nice weather and keep driving it.

Way better than anticipated. I had a slight issue with the idle and it stalling easily. Was an error on my part by not setting idle with fans on, lights, in gear, etc to set a lot of load on the motor. Once I figured that out it's been great
The fuel self learning is spot on but you still have to clean the graph up a little bit to make it nice and smooth. But that's just click up or down in a few spots
Part throttle and cruising is like a stock car. This is a pretty decent size cam and it doesn't buck, sputter or anything out of the ordinary.
WOT same story. It gets down for what it is. Put a gap on a bolt on coyote spraying a 100 shot. On paper that car should have killed me, haha

I'm not very good with leaving things alone. so here we are
I've been planning to put a LSA blower on it next year sometime but a deal came up and I couldn't pass. so then I lightly asked around and scored some LS3 heads as well.
Made a phone call to Tick Performance and they said my current cam should clear with the LS3 heads, so I figured why not swap out the top end and lessen the efforts when it's time to install the blower. I'll just swap the current cam out for a BTR stage 3 blower cam without pulling the heads when it happens
it'll stay N/A for now and I'll stick to the plan with the rear suspension happening next
