I have a Ls2 with a 228r cam. My question to all of you is i have a ls6 intake siting from a old project. Should I run the stock Ls2 intake or Run the Ls6. Is it worth the trouble to adapt the harness to the Ls6 injectors. Thanks.
Personally, I wouldn't bother. The LS2 is a Gen 4 engine while the LS6 was a gen 3 engine. Presumably you want to run a Gen 4 ECU, which will require a DBW TB. It's just more hassle than it is/might be worth....
If you go with the LS6, I'd be interested in buying your complete LS2 intake.
There are multiple questions that I will try to answer. Stock for stock the LS6 is a superior performing intake. It is proven over and over again. As for the injectors, there are several solderless options, but if you are swapping injectors you also need a tune.
Andrew also brings up a good point with the throttlebody differences. If you run the LS6 intake you will need to run an adapter to get the 90mm TB to work.
There are also some pretty good threads around her about porting your stock LS2 intake. Peak Performance as well as others on this site will do different variations of porting to give excellent performance.
A third option would be to sell both and get a FAST intake.
$15 injector adapters, get them on ebay all day, I have a set on my car that adapts the EV6 Plug to the EV1 Injector, were $16. Can get a TB Adapter or run the 3 bolt DBW TB and plug it in, make sure you have the correct wiring and TAC.
In the long run does the cost justify the gain....
