FEAD? Which is best I've searched, but a lot of the info is dated. And want to know, if starting from scratch, which one would everyone choose? The truck for availability and $$ or the Vette for looks? Or the Camaro for $$ and the best of both?
I'm trying to put together a FEAD for my 68 Chevelle, and am torn with used vs, gm new ( Pace or Gm equivalent) for piece of mind and looks. What's everyone's opinions?

The Corvette FEAD is probably the simplest. But I don't think it looks that good, The Alt is just way to out to the side.
The F body set up is clean looking, but there are questions on if it will fit. Engine placement matters. Holley just released low mount Alt style that looks good.

Holley 20-135 and then either the matching bracket for the compressor of your choice (sanden or r4), or the gm low mount compressor to match whatever spacing you want to run.
If you are starting over i would say your best bet is to look at all comparable vehicle swaps here of your vehicle and look at everyones header, pan, and mount combos.
In my impala im using an LSA blower with an lsx concepts tensioner setup, and for the accessories using the holley bracket, with corvette spacing and using a high mount sanden bracket also from holley.
In my malibu i was using the holley bracket with ls1 spacers, but found out i could use a low mount compressor from a truck. so switching to the truck spacers for the holley bracket and using water pump spacers to get the ls1 pump to use the truck spacing.
Very confusing i know, lol.

You can run the OE 4th-gen F-body FEAD if you are using 1" set-back engine mounts, If they happen to merely be flat adapter plates that work with the stock frame stands, that will cause issues with running a low-mount A/C compressor if you are wanting to do so. The new Holley low-mount alternator set-up is subjected to the same engine set-back requirements. You can use the truck FEAD by switching out the PS pump pulley for one from a early 90's V6 Camaro. The Corvette FEAD fits at any fore/aft engine positioning. If you want to run a low-mount A/C compressor, the unique design geometry of the Hooker A-body engine brackets will allow you to do that.

Knowing that clarifies the options available to you...you can run Corvette/Holley high-mount alternator set-ups, or the truck FEAD by swapping out the PS pump pulley. You can run a low-mount A/C compressor also if you wish to.

The reason for non-compatibility is due to interference between the steering box and any accessory drive component that resides in the low driver side area. When the Hooker forward-bias engine brackets are used, the accessories must be configured to hang above the steering box (Corvette type configuration). The Hooker rear-bias engine brackets put the accessories in that area behind the bulk of the steering box, which opens up more options for accessory drive set-ups. That comes with the trade-off of poor transmission fitment for late model transmissions however and the inability to achieve optimized U-joint working angles with said transmissions.

Hey Senna, I want to be sure the information does not get mixed up between the 64-67 and 68-72 A-body applications...the 64-67 cars cannot use a low-mount alternator FEAD with either or the Hooker engine bracket sets due to the closer proximity of the steering box to the firewall compared to the 68-72 A-body application. The Hooker rear-bias engine brackets for the 68-72 A-body are the only ones that will permit the use of a low-mount alternator. I did not test fit the Wegner system as part of my development efforts and could be wrong in my assessment...but I'm fairly confident it won't fit.

I really like the wegner set up, their application chart says it fits a 66 but the chart also says it fits just about every car out here.
I'll have to call them to find out specifics.
