Default ls2 blows fuse

hi have put a ls2 in to my chevy 57.bought a gm performance control kit. but i blowe a fuse pt main supply 1 .is it any more who have this problem and know what to do.

Your question is a bit too generic to try and troubleshoot. Blowing a fuse means you've got a hot wire grounded somewhere. You will need to use a multimeter to try and locate the short. Does the fuse blow immediately when a battery is connected or only when the ignition is turned on?

kent here, i have tryed to disconect all contact from the engine but same problem. i allso have the ecm who was with the engine when i bought it so put that on but its the same fuse who blows,thanks again kent.

There is no real simple fix anyone can post. You need to go over your harness inch by inch and check for cut insulation, loose connections or shorting wires.

Try disconnecting every sensor, plug and chassis wire as well. Perhaps one of those are shorting out. If it stops blowing the fuse than reconnect things one at a time.

If you can't find a bad wire or sensor get a wiring diagram and make sure everything is connected properly. They might have reversed some pins on a connector. Also make 100% sure you didn't ground a power wire

Electrical gremlins are never any fun.

Since you bought new perhaps you can exchange the harness?

hi. no elecktric faults arent fun i am not so good to solve them i dont know anyone here in sweden who can help . the wiering i bought it for a cople of years ago but never startet with the car until now . thanks kent.

Kent,

I feel your pain, but what are we supposed to do? It's not like we can teleport to Sweden and help you. Start posting pictures of the installation and maybe we will see something. I have the GMPP harness in my GTO and I have never had an issue. Post a picture of your fuse box and point to the fuse that you are blowing.

You got a lot of good advise so far, time to get your hands dirty. You don't have to be an electronic expert to inspect wires. Clearly there is a short. Start with the circuit that is blowing and inspect every wire and connection in that circuit.

I Will have My weekend whith the car i think me and a cople of beer solve It .its good to here that you think it is the wiering,i was worrid that it culd be the ecm.

I suddenly stared smoking the headlight switch when I turned the parking lights on, freaked me out.

Like others have said, just start inspecting and disconnecting things one system at a time until the fuse stops blowing.

Mine turned out to be an unused courtesy light socket I thought I had secured up under the dash. The wire with the bulb contact worked its way out of socket and hit metal....stupid stuff.

Took half a weekend and a handful of fuses. There was foul language involved as well.

You'll figure it out.

kent here, problem solved ,it was the wiring to the ecu who was wrong.all wiring who was going to the grey contact on the ecu shold go to the black contact and all the wiring in the black to the grey, just switsh the contacts on the ecu then it started, grate day,thanks for all tips.kent
