Yet another alternator dilemma

Yet another alternator dilemma Alright guys, out of my entire conversion I think I'm most perplexed by this alternator. Primarily out if ignorance. Heres the scoop:
I dont have my alternator P/N available right now but I can get that tonight. Basically through lots of googling I have yet to find a 1:1 alternator post and solution to what i have. Basically 4.8L with a yellow and brown wire coming out of the alternator plug. I cant remember which pins so i apologize.
I see people using different resistors and different pins with different wire colors than I which is whats causing the 'nth level of confusion for me. Can someone confirm what resistor I should buy and will i damage anything by trying different plug outputs? Im super gun-shy since i just got holley efi- I'd hate to put the wrong wire to that and nuke the system.
I'm hoping you guys will say I can use a confirmed resistor on each wire until it charges and i wont run risk of backfeeding the system or cooking my new ecu.
-All input is very appreciated this is whats holding me back from taking it for a drive!
