Is there anyone who knows or can tell if a 6L80 trans will fit in a 68 chevelle floor tunnel without cutting it ? Thanks for any help.

Hello. I did a LS1 4L60 into a 69 Chevelle without cutting the tunnel.. I can tell you that Chevelles have more round tunnels than first generation Camaros. You may have to use a hammer to move metal slightly in contact areas but it will fit. Worse case scenario, if yo had to lift the tunnel at all it would be minimal. There are premade aftermarket tunnel repair panels available that would help achieved clearance without changing the factory look of your car. New carpet and factory console would installed without looking weird.

The 6L80 trans will need major floor reconstruction.
google up some pictures. The rear of the transmission is huge
