00 S10 LS swap
But as previously mentioned, this is an old school driveline. 350 SBC and TH700R4 (or 4L60E). The swap is considerably easier than the LS swap. The computer & wiring are different than the 2.2.
Swapped a '95 2.2 S10 to a 350 / TH350 set up a few years back, then updated to a L69 305 w/TH700R4 (same truck). Your big issue will be the 4.10:1 rear axle. Can't keep from spinning the tires.
Other changes: The fuel pump will need to be changed, can pull everything out of the "Burb. Exhaust, get a set of headers and build an exhaust system. No standard exhaust manifolds will work. Tried V8 Monza and truck, neither worked. HEI distributor wires to the keyed 12 volt post (by the fuse box). The front accessories should clear and a 4.3 radiator should fit and keep it cool.
Suspension- use good (MOOG) parts for a zq8 S-10 or S-10 Extreme with a 4.3. This should include shocks, springs, upper & lower control arms and a complete linkage kit. Also address the brakes. New rotors and good pads (EBC Green stuff pads?). You might also consider using the 1996+ Blazer calipers (dual piston). The common swap mounts and 2.8 frame pads are the way to go on a first gen motor swap.
Transmission - Well..... The 5 speed will work, but you need to source a 4.3 bellhousing. They are out there, just not too common. If the 'Burb is 2wd, the easier route is to use the auto trans.
Pop over on the V8S10.org site. Lots of good info there on doing the swap. The MPG is going to drop when this swap is done, to around 20 from the 28-30 you get now.
