Pretty cool-many years ago I was checking out some cars on a Dodge dealers lot, came across a 65 2+2 conv.
It was a 4 sp, 421 with tri power, and a posi rear. Wouldn't start, had a bad starter, but he says give me $600 and tow it away-deal
I came back with cash, we pushed it down the hill and got it jumped started, and drove it home-hit a junkyard, got a starter, drove the hell out of it.
Man if I only knew, would love to have it back, lol

Disc brake
I buy the brackets from scarebird, but the adapter is rear drum who i get machined. Other parts is rotor from 77 Bonneville, caliper from 71 Le mans... It have been a lot of puzzle to get it together.

Thanks, i appreciate your comment, because i have follow your 59 chevy Wagon prosject , and i`m so impressed over, what you have done. I will, like you, try to keep the original/retro look, mixed with updated chassi and drivetrain. By the way, i want to ask someone about the exhaust pipes. the car have a 2" double pipes. Do you think i can use, theme, or will you recomand to replace theme with rougher pipes ? I plan to use manifolds from F-body, or trail blazer. i have to see, whats the best fitting to the steering box, i know its cramped there..

Engine Mount
While i`m waiting on a big load of parts from the US, i try to figure out a solution for the engine mount. I cant find any bolt on kit for the big Pontiac. and here is the bracket on the rear of the crossmemer. I have order some adapter plate, but i`m not sure what to do? I will either bolt on solid motor mount from mid 60`s big chevy , and remove the brackets, or i can mix/weld to the original mount with the 389 mount(on pic.), and use the bracket as it is. Is it anyone here with experience ,or knowledge/advice about the big 60`s Pontiac and engine mount ?

Really love your car Tarjei, this is going to be a sweet ride!
What kind of headers are you holding up against the engine in that next to last photo in the first post? I've been looking at some shorty headers that you'll get for a bunch of different GM's from 60-70's, and also the B-Body..

"Test "and engine mount
After receiving parts, we have to do the first trial mounting, and see how it wil l be in RL. With new oil pan from Holley, and engine mount bracket it was time to do some test. With 124 " wheelbase and overall length 221,7" its a long car, and the engine mount must still be on bracket rear the crossmember. Me and my buddy Olav try to figure out some cardboard template. If i should use the original bracket , we have to lift the engine 2". At one way, i want to use the original pontiac mount, but i ask myself about the engine stability ? If we should cut and weld, it will be hopeless for later engine mount exchange.. Perhaps its better with new bracket, and convert to bolt on chevy bracket`s . I`m glad for some input here

If this was my project, I would get 4th gen Camaro engine mounts and get one of the matching frame stands made by Holley. It probably doesn't matter which ones. Then I would mock up the engine mounts with the frame stands and build a mount off the back of the original crossmember for the frame stands to bolt to.

Not sure about the similarities between the Pontiac and Chevrolet "B" body cars........But....if the steering set-ups are the same , you will probably run into some centerlink clearance issues with the sump on that 302-2 pan.........on the "B" body cars we have to use the 302-1 pan assy..........The sump is longer on the -2 pan and won't work on the Chevrolets........

You definitely do not want to raise the engine, because that will really mess up the driveline angles.

Then for the frame side, use one of the Holley brackets. They make them for various cars, so you can see which ones work better. Here are the ones for 68-72 A-bodies.

Trial mount and customize parts
I got some days in the workshop, and something is going on, and for other tasks i use more time than i expect.. I try to remove the pulley from the PS pump, but when my homemade tool been destroyed 2.time, i park this project until further. I have trial mount the new camaro water pump, and customize the alternator bracket, so its right clearence between the throttle body and bracket. My plan is to use the original Pontiac valve cover, and i have managed a buddy to make adapter so they will fit, he send me template pict. today. He ask me to check the interest, and please send me a PM, if this is interesting for other.. For rust and paint strippin` stripAll is restorers best friend, and parts who is treated with StripAll is much more clean and assemble , read more here http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=StripAll
at last.. , what is the threaded hole in the adapter for water pump, meant for ? Can it be other than a temp sensor ? Excuse me because i `m beginner with this LS engine, and no experience...It will be some stupid question, like this..
Perhaps some of you know what this is ....
