A body with a little twist
I HAVE A REAL SOLID 71 lemans wig a protouring suspension that I was thinking about getting rid of for next to nothing but it doesn't sit right with me. The car currently has a Pontiac 400 with a BOP TH400.
My my question is what would be the cheapest and easiest way to swap in and make big power :
1. 5.3 /6.0 with Lsa supercharger
2. 5.3/6.0 with turbo (on3 7876?)
other then the fuel system and the Sc itself what is needed for the lsa?
was the LS TO BOP TH400 problem ever definitively rectified ? (Adapter plate , swap bellhousings)
what what would you go about FUEL INJECTION SITH THESE SETUPS (the Holley efi system seems expensive).
I guess thata enoigh questions to keep to keep you busy for a while
car will be weekend warrior and something scary as **** on the street that can handle Car had an open 10 bolt for no (will change in the future) I want to change as little as possible in order to get it going for the time being
Can't help much with the trans question except to suggest you pony up the dough and get a 4l80e trans with the engine.
The LSA swap is the reason my Lemans is not done. My '71 Chevelle is undergoing that swap now. I used an LY6 motor with rectangular heads and grabbed an LSA supercharger off CL for $380. Accoriding to my spreadsheet I am already in it for $3k and I still need a few more parts. I presently have all the tensioners, ZL1 lid, fuel rail, injectors, belts, CTS-V crank pulley, heat exchanger, pump, Corvette LS3 waterpump...and the list just keeps on growing. I did opt for a smaller Lingenfelter pulley though. All this is backed by a stock 4l80e with shift kit and Circle D stall.
