what radiator can I use? I have a 2014 5.3 LS with the 6 speed auto out of a silverado that we have installed in a 1959 Apache truck. This motor does not have a steam port. Can I use a stock aluminum radiator with the fan? Has anyone did a conversion with one of these engines?
I used an inline radiator hose drain and removed the drain and installed a barb fitting. I put it in the upper hose right in the middle and ran my steam vent hose into this line. This helps make the install easy in several ways...it allows you to line up the hose end with the radiator and it can also be purchased with different hose diameter ends so you can go 1.5 to 1.75 if need be.
Radiator Recommend you touch base with several radiator manufactures, you may like the price of a new double pass radiator built with the correct bib size and maybe a steam line connection.
