I have been on a search for a 4L60e to put behind my 5.3 in my Cutlass & 3 places I stopped by today told me the transmission has to be a 2002 also for it to work. I need to know if thats true because I found a 2wd trans in a 07 Silverado but I need to know if that one will work before I buy it. Anyone reading this have a 02 engine with a different year trans thats working fine, please let me know.

I hang out in the automatic section a lot and even rebuilt my own 4l60e. It was with the help of mrvedit and clinebarger. I will all but guarantee if not guarantee his post is correct in your other thread.
I absolutely would not take advice or do work with the shops telling you that you need a specifically a 02 4l60e.
