Default Another fox swap

Finally got to start messing with this chassis that I got a year and a half ago.

Has a AJE ford K member. Some swap mounts didn't fit right, so I chopped and welded them. Had to shim some more on the passenger side but it fits. Got to test fit the 4L80. Needs trans seals before I leave it in. I'll swap those and get it in for good tomorrow as well as build the trans crossmember. Found some ford engine plate and had to use it since it was laying around.

I didn't want to waste time finding the factory lines that kick out too far, so I found the steel AN fittings that were where I wanted them, cut the stock outlets and welded the cut AN fittings to them. So far so good.

I did it very sloppy and they didn't turn out worthy of pics. I just wanted it in and ready to take a beating. I need to finish so I can get back to customer stuff pretty soon. Lol

Street car that can run local street class events and no prep street class. Nitrous system will be a 200 hit till I convert to E85, then I'll go to 300.

She sits with the engine and trans in finally. Final resting place for them after fighting to get it level and no header contact anywhere. Trans mount did not turn out symmetrical because F that I want it done. It will clear the **** out of the exhaust though.

looking good. interesting how different trans mounts I've seen now. Mine goes straight across and luckily I have both mounts on my powerglide or 4l. My motor also sits closer to the passenger side, super tight with the Kooks headers on that side.

Both crossmembers are custom made. Mine sits real high in the tunnel. My chassis builder set up my trans angle to my rear and he pushed it up 2" to get the right angles. I have no u joint bind. He said I should see a mph increase because how much of a bind I was originally in.

I had it straight across with my 80 coupe while running the TH400 and 4L80. This time the exhaust will not have to dip down to clear the crossmember.

I can take some more pics later roadrunner, but it is more of a "put everything where you want it" type deal. A bit of hammering to make things a little easier here and there.

Cleaned the engine bay up with fresh paint. Radiator is in as well as fans and some small things.

May have this bastard fired up tomorrow. Shifter, accessories, cooking, other odds and ends complete. Wiring is the main thing that remains.

Failed today. Went for a f it. Wired in enough to make the starter have power and the ignition after filing t with fluids. Pulled the master power cut off and popped the 100 amp fuse. Nothing is touching, but the starter was a failed unit off my 98 TA. Perhaps tomorrow.

It is alive. New starter and a coil harness and shoe fired up. Tons of wiring left to do.

Two days messing with wiring makes me feel like I have not got jack **** done. Built this out of spare parts laying around. It's installed in the car where it will never be seen. Tomorrow I should have switches, gausges and fully operational mustang.

First flight was a success for the most part. No leaks. Has plenty of power. Only second gear for some reason. I did jack the trans up at one point and may have got the plug knocked out of the trans. I'll look in to it later. Looking forward to getting interior in and see if I can get the damn passenger window to open.
