Default Transmission Options/Sizes

It seems very tough to find information on the widths and depths of mostly any transmission. The lengths are all out there but that's about all I have found. Does anyone have or know of a collective list of all transmission widths, heights and lengths? I'm trying to determine if I should modify my tunnel to fit a TR6060 or if I should step down to something smaller like a 4 speed

The difference between any 4 speed I've driven and a TR6060 is night and day. Besides shift feel, the double overdrive on the TR6060 is worth the effort over a 4 speed unless you don't have the fabrication skill to raise the tunnel. If space is a concern and you want to row your own, consider looking at a TKO600 which may be closer to a 4 speed in size (height) but still supply an overdrive.

Just my humble opinion.

No question about it...do whatever it takes to install the TR6060...

What car are you working on?

What kind of vehicle, how much torque will your power plant make and how will the vehicle be used? If you have to have a 56/6060 to manage output, so be it. But if your output doesn't require "that much" tranny - it's big, heavy and extracts a parasitic HP price that you may be able to avoid. Tell us more so we can reply with relevant info....

I'm not going to say what car it is just yet. But it's definitely not a normal car. Anyways, I am going with the TR6060, I can keep some of the trans tunnel but the sides will need to get cut and extended. Luckily I have 13" between frame rails at the tightest points.

Power level will be 500rwhp from an LS3 for now but I may step up in the future. Ford 9" in the rear so that will hold. Weight will be around 3200lbs. Right now it will be used as a fun street car with limited road course use

Not top secret, I just don't want it to get out until I complete everything.

It all depends on what you like... Most just ask why, for me it's just a logical step
