I'm curious to see how the Hooker plates work out for you with your solid engine mounts, since they were validated for fitment with the Prothane poly mounts only during development. I'll stay tuned to see how things go for you.

What headers are you planning on using? Im going through a swap right now 04 Mustang 6.0/T56.
Ive come to the conclusion that the aluminum blocks look nicer than my old rusty iron block haha.

i have a set of GTO, 2010 camaro, and the 01 truck headers that came off the donor truck.
hoping to use the camaro ones for the time being. they fit the pass side no problem, drivers side id need to trim the flange just a hair to clear the steering shaft with the old mounts, im unsure where itll put me with the hooker mount adapters as it moves it forward, might be worse. Ill have to find out. im not opposed to cutting one of these up and making something work.
when its turbo time i was looking at using the hooker log manifolds.

the camaro manifold looked like it needed 1/4 or so shaved off the lower flange outside edge to clear. but im running sold mounts so i wont need to worry about flex as much as say if you had a rubber mount.
once i get the motor in with the new setup ill post some pics of what ended up where and what i needed to change to make it work.

Swapped the manual pedal assembly for the auto one tonight and removed the auto shifter cable from the tunnel. Started eyeballing how the underhood harness goes. Installed a prndl switch into the 80e and removed the bit of cut cable that was on it. About an hour or so messing around with it getting things done a bit at a time.

Basically that cable when using the stock auto shifter engages the ignition key lock when in anything but park. So that when you are in drive you cant turn the car off and take the key out without returning to park.
Are you using the stock shifter? Or are you using a manual shifter valve body?

I might be wrong, but its something worth investigating if you plan on daily driving this at all. Would hate to see the car roll if you dont pull the emergency gear and dont lock the trans in park.

its going to be track use only and honestly i dunno if im gunna use the key at all.
maybe for unlocking the column but if this is true then ill have to find a way to integrate the interlock into the shifter mechanism of the aftermarket ones. or maybe make the interlock a manual operation with a pull tab or something.

Sunday we got the motor home for good and started massaging the trans tunnel to clear the 80e
got the new flex plate installed
in its new home
so much room
one downside of the hooker mounts i dont have pics of is now my camaro exhaust manifolds are all up into the steering shaft on the drivers side and kmember on the passenger side so im going to need to cut the flanges off and zap some pipe onto it to get it out of the engine bay. but the engine being away from the firewall is worth it.

after some test fitting, i think i decided im going to have to use the LS6 manifold i have on my shelf instead of the truck manifold and switching to a different water pump and buying an alternator mount from somewhere to bring it lower. it could work with a 4+ inch cowl but in what id spend finding a cowl hood thatll clear ill probably end up cheaper getting a waterpump and a bracket for the alt and a fuel rail.

You should have a much easier time getting your 4L80 in now with your new engine position.
If your protractor is reading accurately, you'll want to get the tail of the transmission up to decrease the engine inclination angle you're at right now (looks like 4 or 5 degrees in the photo).
The inclination angle achieved by the use of the Hooker engine plates and transmission crossmember with the Holley 302-2 or 302-3 oil pans is 2.5 degrees. If you can get your inclination angle to 3 degrees, (relative to the rocker panels being at 0 degrees), you should be in a good static place as you can shim the trans mount from there a little if needed in your final set-up.
The interference you encountered with the stock Camaro exhaust manifolds is something that was given zero consideration during development of the Hooker components as they are not designed as universal use parts; they are designed for compatibility with the Hooker long-tube headers, LS cast iron manifold kit and turbo manifold kit.
When used as complete system there are zero interference issues, but when various components are used from the system in a cherry-picked fashion, there are bound to be interference issues that arise with components from other sources.
