Default 98 camaro v6 to 5.3 v8 swap...

I know I know, there's prolly a million other threads out there for this. As of right now, I have a 01 Z28 cradle including struts and full brakes. Looking to find the perfect 5.3 to drop in and get around 400-500 hp. So what blocks (iron) and head combo would be the smartest and or cheapest? I'm using a 01 AUTO harness with my stock 4L60 from the V6. From what I've read, trans should bolt right up. I also purchased a complete WS6 rear end as well. Besides frame connectors and need for upgrade on suspension, what else do you gents think I would need to complete the swap?

Go for Gen IV (06 on up), as they have better bottom end parts and 243/799 heads. Plus, being newer, will likely have fewer miles on them. Plus, they will have a good tranny behind them. Get it with the engine you pull from the truck.

Excellent! I also was told that the fuel pump and full fuel lines are different. Replace those as well?

There are threads on here telling how big fuel and return lines should be. Do a search for the correct info. It will be better than anything I would tell you.
