Default Heater bibs

Searched but only found references to S & P bibs. I have the water pump heater bibs removed and tapped to 3/8" and 1/2" NPT. Easy enough to find adapters that go from NPT to AN -10 but that's where the easy part stops. Both my hoses are 5/8" and I need a 90 degree AN to 5/8" hose bib. Do they make such a thing?

Found the answer. Went to anplumbing.com where they have all the fittings necessary. Two adapters from NPT to AN and two 90 degree slip on 5/8" hose bibs/AN fittings. Should clear the fender well fine and not leak.

Usually a household item; a hose bibb (with TWO b's) another word for a water faucet.

Guess I used the wrong term, should have said push on barb fitting.

There ya GO! lol No big deal man! I knew what you were getting at. Another might be nipple, though they are usually threaded on both ends.

After giving it more thought I may go with hose bib(b)s on the heater hoses anyway. Just think, pull over at any time and draw hot water for a hot cocoa, tea or instant coffee.

Just an FYI for some people out there...

AN- fittings and JIC fittings use the same thread and flare sizes. AN-10 is the same as a JIC-10 fitting. JIC is standard in the hydraulic industry. The OP is correct, use a NPT to AN (JIC) adapter into the water pump, then a 90* hose barb AN (JIC) fitting on the end of the hose...Also, most common Push Lock hose fittings are JIC/AN sizing...

Great point Karl!

Another point of distinction is that JIC fittings are steel (at least I ASSume that, because I have never seen an aluminum JIC fitting). AN (Army/Navy) fittings can be had in aluminum or steel.

Never seen AL JIC Fitting either, but have seen and used BRASS JIC Hose Bib fittings.

Default Heater fittings

Just to close out the thread here are the fittings I got to go from the water pump to the heater hoses. One adapter is 3/8" NPT and the other 1/2" NPT. Both are connected to 5/8" heater hose.
