Unhappy new to LS engines help needed

I have a 1982 Camaro Z28 in Australia, currently running a 1976 400ci chev and vortec heads th350 auto and 3.44 10 bolt diff.
runs 12.87 ET and the engine is +060 oversize and has a bad cylinder caused by corrosion prior to the rebuild some years ago.
I am running about 410Hp with a calibrated 750DP Holley.

Looking at Either a Brand new GMPP SP383 at 430hp for around $7500 from Pace Performance or Scoggin Dickey with a full GM warantee. or a Dart 247 Short Motor from dart and slowly buy parts until i can get an engine built but it will cost me around $10,000 roller cam AFR top end etc.

OR GO TO AN LS type engine with a 750/850 holley and intake.
I am looking at this bottom end from Shafiroff
http://www.shafiroff.com/chevy-ls-sh...-block-ls3.php and putting a set of L92 heads in stock form and a roller cam .

i will need to factor in the LS Power steer pump and alternator/water pump and belt setup

i need to factor in coil packs and electrics, sensors and oil pan to suit the 82/92 camaro.
A new exhaust from headers back will need to be custom made as i am right hand drive.

i am looking at $10,000 budget and 550+ HP if its possible

OR DO I SIMPLY buy a brand new LSX454 from GM and gather parts until its ready to put in.

I have a 2008 Holden Commodore with a 6.0 L98 and i see i can buy that type of engine brand new here for around $7000 from GM
and possible put a carby on it.

I am not in the buisness of friggin around with computers and lap tops to tune the thing and dont want fuel injection on this old car at all.

All info is greatly appreciated as i am very up to date with GEN 1 engines as i been doing them since the 1970,s as a kid.

From the sound of it, the LSx454 is a pretty good option for you!

You would do the same thing we do here, only we use Craigslist, you use Gumtree. Although you don't have trucks to pull engines from, you do have a lot of cars that have them, and although not as cheap as our truck engines, the prices are on par for a car engine here. If you are trying to stick to your planned budget, I would find a good used engine and save some money for the go fast goodies. At least one of these adds says you can hear it run, which is a plus. Not sure where you are, but these are all in QLD. I would have the front end off that last car if shipping wasn't a deal breaker...
