Default 1987 C4 corvette NMCA drag car

Brought this car home a little over 2 years ago. Its been a slow go. Hopefully finished by march 2018. Its going to run in the Chevrolet Performance Stock class in NMCA and local brackets and index racing.

Had a 10 point cage installed. Original door bars were wrong, i couldn't exit the car. Now it has a swing out drivers bar. Had it certified this spring to 8.50.

Had a few things done at AFS racecars. Manuel rack conversion, manuel brake conversion, firewall to cover HVAC removal and disable the telescopic steering wheel.

Class is 1/4 mile racing. Record is 10.08 i think, he ran it against me. Fastest cars are usually 10.13-10.19. 1/8 mile ets are around 6.40-6.55.

Largest tire allowed is a 10.5x28x15. Must be a bias ply tire. The class is designed to be entry level heads up class, so it is slower than 9.99.

Any details on the manual rack conversion? A member on CorvetteForum tried this but wasn’t able to find a rack to work.

This seems like a really cool class. I have a friend in the Coyote Stock class which has similar rules, low 10 sec ETs etc. These classes just seem a lot more interesting than bracket racing.

Gotta like a C4 drag car too.

I'm not sure which rack he used. It is not a bolt-in deal. Stock mounts were cut off and new mounts added. Bryan at AFS would have more info.

CS and CPS are not as easy as it looks. The last .15 - .20 are difficult and costly to find. The CS guys are a different but fun group.

DR525 install. One man job. Melrose headers fit great with their swap plates.
