LS7 Heater Hose routing

LS7 Heater Hose routing
Quick question:
I am stuffing an LS7 into my old Chevy with Vintage Air.
Vintage Air Heater Core provides an inlet and outlet just like all others.
However Vintage Air has a valve that stops water flow into the heater core if the heat is turned off.
The question I have is do I need to redirect the water back to the water pump with a "T" in the line or can I allow the vintage air to simply shut off the flow?
Thanks for any input!

Makes perfect sense to keep the flow as GM designed it......without the flow to the sensing side of the thermostat to keep everything balanced out ............The thermostat could only open from heat soak.......They work O.K. without, but.....I'll add the crossover to have the system designed per GM spec's..........
