77 C10 LQ4 Build!
This thread will be more then just the LS swap since my truck needs a little more attention then just the engine.
I will also be looking out for some help since this is my first LS swap.
I have a short bed 1977 GMC that I'm taking the 400sbc out and going to be swapping a 2008 6.0 with a 4l80 tranny. I'm going to be keeping the electronic fuel injection.
I want to just get the engine in the truck with not to many add-ons at first because I eventually want to do a mild full turbo set up.
While I'm doing the engine swap I plan on doing a few other things like a full air ride set up. Also doing all my body repair's like floors, rockers and some small misc. spots and raising the bed floor.
Thanks
I'll let you know how these mounts & crossmember work out.
Iv'e never really done metal work to a vehicle like this before but I do have experience working with some metal and welding so will see how this goes.
I picked up some replacement panels from TopBanana and floor panels a while back from LMC.
I'll get some more pictures up of the rust damage its worse then these pictures show.
Getting ready to tear into the body work soon.
Going to take some engine and drivetrain measurements before I do anything else with engine and suspension.
My next goal is to get the old 400 out and start these cab panels.
I ordered the bag bracket kit for the front.
I couldn't decide on 2.5 or 3 inch drop spindles.
Since i'm going with a aftermarket drop memeber eventually and they all recommend 2.5 spindles shouldn't I just get the 2.5 drop spindles??
Take a look!
My backyard is starting to look like a junkyard!! I love it!!!
