Bare Bones 6.0 LS Foxbody Hey guys, just picked up a 4 cylinder foxbody. It's an LX hatch. I just stripped the entire car, engine, trans, interior is all out down to the dash and spare tire. I put some subframe connectors on it, 8.8 rear end and v8 brakes. I'm planning on doing a 6.0 NA LS swap on it and would like to keep EVERYTHING under 5k. I'm open to pretty much everything but it seems like I am going with a 6.0 LS + 4l80E pullout. Megasquirt standalone, etc. The thing with this build is, I'm not going to be putting AC in it, power steering, etc. It is going to be extremely barebones, no door panels, etc. I'm gonna put some buckets in with a aluminum fab dash. I'm alright with used parts but I was curious if I was just wasting my time by trying to keep it under 5k all together? Like I said, the reason I am hopeful is because it doesn't have to look nice and I don't care about PS or AC. Does my budget have a chance and where should I start? Thanks.

I'm not known to people who know me for pinching pennies. But if you take your time and search for deals, and sell off all of the stuff from the car you aren't using like interior or what not. I think it can be done. Although it's the little stuff you don't plan for that will ruin your budget.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to take my time with it. I'll search around for details and get what I can used that doesn't matter if it's used or not. Thanks!
