Default Hardtop to Ttop conversion

Bought the car 4 years ago with a hard top and have been kicking myself in the *** lately over it. I know a lot of people have done it, but now all the the threads are outdated and no pictures to go off of. Are their any write ups or links that still work? Can anyone provide info and pics of the conversion? Anything special needed? Thanks in advance.

A T-top will make the chassis WAY more flexible, to the point that sometimes the tops can be difficult to put back in place. The chassis will flex that much.

I’ve seen people mention that on here. Was it all t top cars that did this? or just the converted ones? Any ways to prevent it? I’ve heard That this could happen but have never seen anyone report it being a problem for them.

The ones with stronger/stiffer chassis were not as badly affected. Likely the worst ones were the '78-'87 G-bodies with their weak frames, even the factory ones. Basically you are making a convertible with one rib down the middle of the roof. Convertibles almost all had stronger frames or more braces than their sedan counterparts.
It's a tradeoff. What's more important to you? Chassis rigidity, or sun in your face?
