Bad Fuel Pressure Regulator caused broken rod & hole in block. Fixable ?
I completed by 4.8 swap in my 1998 S10. However, a bad fuel pressure regulator dumped fuel directly in to the intake from the vacuum hose which ended up hydro locking and a broken rod & a hole in the block.
The 4.8 has less than 50,000 actual miles and wondering if I can save it. I need some advise on welding up this hole. The hole in in lower part of the block and not in the coolant area.
I was thinking about getting small piece of cast iron, the size of this hole and welding it up. I can probably get a small chunk off LS block from my local pic-a-part!
I have a MIG gas welder. Is it possible to weld this?
Thanks
