Swap idles but dies when hit throttle

Have a 5.3 swap that idles fine. Touch throttle and dies. Builder did change from drive by wire to drive by cable. Does ecm needs to be flashed for a drive by wire to drive by cable conversion?

He told me he Changed fuel pump, map sensor, swapped throttle body, swapped injector rails, maf sensor. Coils. Nothing changes. Wont do anything but idle and choke out if you try to touch the throttle.

If u are using an original dbw ecm with a cable tb setup it will need tuning. Has to have an OS change and will need some tweaks to be correct. Ive sone a few of these setups.
