Cool 69 El Camino Ls swap

Hi,All, I need advice on installing trans cooler lines with interfering with the floorboard. I’m installing an LS3 engine with automatic trans in my 1969 El Camino and I can’t fit the trans cooler lines because the floorboard are to close. Anybody have any advice. Thanks.

Are u using braided line. I say a hammer works good for sheet metal massage but if not find a fitting from the trans with a 90 on them and try that but I prefer straighter lines and moving the floorboard

Thanks for the reply, have the 90s, I was trying to avoid the hammer but I guess that’s the way to go.

How much room are u needing to be able to hook up and unhook the lines without anything in the way 1 inch half an inch etc. If it's a small amount in just one or two spots u can u a punch to just massage it in the right spot instead of beating a whole 6 inch wide section. It will look better that way then touch up with paint and continue on

Your looking for 90 degree banjo fittings to replace the stock ones,, take the old ones out of the trans and go to a hydraulic shop and tell them what your trying to avoid..

Yep, as said above, you want banjo fittings. Buddy just did a 4l80e in a 66 elco and they clear the tunnel. He used PTFE fittings to go from banjo to hard line.

Thanks,I ended up using a 180 Degree hose fitting & a hammer. Now can anybody tell me how to remove terminals from the throttle pedal connector? I have no trouble with all the other connector.
