Need help finding a fuel sending unit

Hey fellas, currently ordering parts for my 5.3 swap and I cannot find the sending unit I need for my car for ls swap. It's a 1987 El Camino, I've found some units but they're going for 280 bucks. Is there somewhere I can get the tank and matching sending unit?

Have you checked with Rick's Tanks or Tanks Inc.?

Tanks Inc doesn't have anything for me right now and Rick's wants 1500 for tank and sending unit

As sick as it sounds thats about right for a stainless tank and a new sending unit and pump.

My BMW pump is almost 300 and the tank is north of 2K for the dealer..

Are you looking for a fuel level sender with in tank EFI pump? If you found one for $280 that's a very reasonable price.

I found a used sending unit that I ended up almost completely rebuilding over 10 years ago when I did my swap, but the efi el camino sending units were always impossible to find. The other issue is the tanks. There are reproduction spectra tanks available but the baffling is not very good and everyone that I know of using one had to add a vent tube to get it to fill correctly without the gas pump kicking off. I have heard that the 90s caprice /roadmaster wagon gas tank is almost a direct bolt in. Plus it is plastic so it won't rust out. I might check into that route. Or buy a new el camino reproduction tank and mount a late model gm fuel pump / sender bucket in it.
