5.3 to 6.0 swap pcm problems Hi.
I am from north of norway and I am doing a 5.3-6.0 swap on a 2001 tahoe, 6.0 came from a 2004 hummer.
I have done the complete swap, changing over the intake ( 6.0came with dbw) and changed the flexplate.
Engine is in the car and starts and shows no errors as I know.
But I still need a new tune yes ?
I got the 2004 pcm frim the hummer , but it does not fit the harness because it a different colour on one of the cables.
In norway I don not know anyone that tunes, but I have hp tuner, can I buy a tune and have it sent by mail ?

You will need a new tune. Since you have HP Tuners, I would do a read of the 04, or go into the repository and as long as your 6.0 is stock, I would just get/use the credits for your current pcm and enter what is in the stock 6.0 tune. Once you have done that and verify it all works, you can then tweak the timing and tune as you would like.

Thank you Thank you, but i dont have the right harness for the 04 pcm , one of the contacts is not fitting in the pcm , I am using the 01 5.3 harness in the tahoe.
Can I mailorder a stock tune for the 5.3 pcm too fit with the 6.0 , is there any of this tune/power boxes from summit I can buy that will handle this ?

Since it is likely hard to find harnesses where you are, you could file off the plastic tab on the connector so it fits, just verify that the pin-out is correct to match the newer pcm. Your best solution is to buy either HP Tuners or EFI Live so you can tune it yourself or install a mail order tune.Also that 04 PCM could be a DBW only unit without the driver for a cable throttle,LT1swap.com has all the info you need.
Go to the tune repository on HP's website and download a stock tune from a 2001-2 6.0. There are only a few things that need to be changed from a stock 5.3 tune. Change them and see how it runs, learning to use HP Tuners will help you a bunch in the long run.
