Default LS3 EVAP Sol/Harness Questions

My Connect and Cruise LS3 harness has no connection for the EVAP solenoid, so it will never be energized. I have a fresh air intake line to the passenger side valve cover from the air intake after the MAF sensor. For dirty air, there is a U-shaped line from the valley cover to the intake manifold. The solenoid valve has a line running to the side of the throttle body and a hose barb that, at least right now, would not be used. I am running a vented tank. Should I just remove the solenoid and plug the one line or?????My headers have a bung for the sensors in the collectors but my exhaust connecting pipes do also. Any reason to run the ones closest to the engine or further away?The harness for the 4L70E has a wire for “brake.” I’m nearly sure this is run to a normally closed switch (opens when brake applied) operated by the brake pedal. I’m not sure if this goes to ground or +12 volts when the key is on. Can someone clarify?The large Fuse/Relay center appears to have brackets on the sides that would engage a mounting box. Otherwise there is no obvious way to mount it. I couldn’t find such a box in the Packard Electric catalog. What have others done to mount this large box?Thanks!

  • I would remove the EVAP solenoid and cap the port on the TB or intake that is not being used.
  • I would install your o2 sensors in the bung located in the header collectors.
  • No idea on the trans brake wire.
  • You'll likely need to have a custom mounting bracket made to mount the fuse box in the engine bay.

PSI conversions disabled the evap purge valve function in my 08 Corvette ecu; I removed the valve and capped that port; connected my charcoal canister to a barbed fitting I installed in the air intake line upstream of the maf. Works flawlessly - stock drivability, no gas fumes when parked. LS3 crate.

when u said upstream, u meant before the maf correct?

Upsteam = filter side

Downstream = throttle body side

My rationale - if anything is actually pulled from that vent line I want it metered.
