Ls swap Chrysler 300
Small list of mods you will HAVE to d.i.y.
•motor mounts (but a transadapt kit for a jeep TJ or CJ to a Chevy 5.7) it's about $40 and you will still have to cut and weld what comes in the box.
•Transmission mount( use the mount that is normally holding up the exhaust on the Chrysler/Dodge and throw out the original transmission cross member. Reinforce the exhaust cross member with flat plate steel and use the center hole as a guide for mounting. )
•Exhaust..... You will probably cut and weld both sides atleast 8 times each unless you have a way to mock up while using a floor jack and not a hoist, you'll hate the exhaust in the end.
•Rack and Pinion.....you can use the Chrysler/Dodge rack, but the lines gotta come off and be gently reworked, it's not easy, in order to fit next to the oil pan. And the entire rack itself has to be dropped, both brackets about 3" lower, even if you use and aftermarket oil pan(I used the pan from a gto, and it still was a biootch)
•front sway bar, you have to drop it( either make your own or find a set of drop brackets) I made mine about 3" lower but they attached to the existing brackets.
• you'll use the gm power steering pump, but will actually use the lines from the Chrysler pump, but not the reservoir.
• driveline will need to be a gm one piece which you'll have to cut and reweld(make sure it's balanced) use a truck without 4x4, duhhhh.
• also use the shift cable from Chrysler and make an bracket with the one that the cable face fits.
It had taken me 8 months roughly to get this swap done, at home, with almost zero funds and zero help. I'm not a professional mechanic by no means, but I have been working on cars and doing engine, tranny builds and swaps for close to 9 years now, and this swap I will never ever do again. I hated the 2.7, I had rebuilt that pos 3 times, bottom to top, rods, pistons, crankshaft, etc....

Piece of advice if you want any of the stock cluster, floor shifter, ignition, front and rear lights and brake lights to actually work, as well as door locks and windows, cut the big fuse relay box in the engine compartment out, save the other fuse box intact, you'll need it to make all the stuff crap work. It's a PIA and I honestly don't recommend the swap. I wish I would of just found an old school and started from scratch rather than starting with my shitty 2.7 dodge magnum. I'm proud of myself for doing what nobody else has done, but it was definitely a build I won't be doing again, not in this lifetime or the next. Good luck with your swap, if you have any questions or just want a rundown of what it entails, you can message me anytime.
