1993 Silverado swap
I know this a a forum more for ls1's and Corvettes and Camaros and all but I come here because I can't seem to find good info. I have a 1993 Silverado I am putting a 2001 5.3 into and I have heard that it won't work electrically with the early 4l60e as they are not PWM transmissions. I just need some info here as to why it won't work. As far as I know the only difference is the way the torque converter applies. It's simply on/off for a 1993. 1995 and up are pwm. Why won't this work between the engine and tranny? Any help is very much appreciated.

probably start (if haven't already) by checking the schematics and connector pinout for both to make sure it will be able to control all the solenoids properly which i think it would...for the pwm issue i believe this could be dealt with in the tune by essentially removing the pwm function by locking the converter fully rather than slipping some percentage like it would for the pwm trans. hopefully someone can correct me if i'm wrong.

U can turn off all the codes and tables for tcc lockup in the tune and use a manual lockup tcc switch. Alot of guys have done this with full manual 60e/80e setups. U can also just cut the tcc wire to the trans and bypass it to a switch directly for control.
