Question PRND inputs?

Hello all,
I am working on swapping a 5.3 w/ a 4L60 into my s10. I'm working on the harness and I understand that the s10 uses the PRND inputs (Circuits 772,771,776,773, the wires from the square 2x2 connector on the park/neutral switch) for the PRND indicator on the instrument panel, however the 5.3 computer uses these circuits (Blue Pin 32,34,72 and Red Pin 62).

I would like to retain the stock PRND indicator if possible, I was wondering if the computer needed the PRND inputs (i.e. if it just sends the signal to the BCM in the stock setup)? Or if I could just splice the wires two ways from the Park/Neutral switch to go to the computer, as well as the truck's instrument panel?

If any of this didn't make sense let me know, i got a little bit of beer in me lol

Thanks, Ryan

What year s10? I have a friend who has a 01 I believe. On his, he has a F-Body ecm setup OS. We have not been able to get his indicator to work so far. I believe it may be due to the F-Body OS, but I am not 100% sure on that.

It’s a 1996. I don’t have the wiring diagram handy right now but on the 1996 it looks like those PRND inputs switches are in series with the PRND indicator. It might be different on a newer truck.

I think im gonna just try splicing the wires two ways and see what happens, unless someone tells me otherwise before i do that.
