I noticed the headpipes for the Hooker manifolds are 2-1/2". I wonder if a little Dremel work inside the exits on the manifolds would open them to 2-1/2" without causing any problems...

OOPS! I thought they were 2-1/2". I know the Hooker ones are 2-1/4", which is why I asked the above...
Edit: And after reading back thru the thread, I should have known the above... DOH!!

Sad to report...project OLOA V8 Volvo is dead. Lots of things stacked against me on this project, so Scott @ STS Machining and I chatted today, and the project is officially cancelled.
I'm bummed about it, as I had a good picture in my head how this car would look and perform. Sure, I could buy a Magnum SRT-8 and get something modern and just as fast, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as cool in my eyes as a sleeper Volvo 240 wagon.

Perhaps sometime in the future the stars will align Tom. Of course, with anything close to similar power - easy to do with the LS - the Volvo wagon has the potential to be MUCH quicker than a Magnum wagon. Curb weights on most of the Magnum cars magazines tested are in the 4300 lb. range - a good 1000-1200 lbs. heavier than a 245 depending on how it's optioned. Fellow down in Greenville, SC has a gutted 245 with roll cage and a 6.0L/nitrous set up for the strip. His corner scales showed him around 2650.....
