Tach signals!!!
trying to eliminate possibilities.
I either have a bad connection in my harness, the PCM tach signal is not compatible (on all the v8s2000 webpage) everyone is able to get tach from a fbody/ls1 PCM) but im not ls1.
I have not yet bought a dakota digital sgi (VSS speed healer) and saw the dakota digital STA... and figured it might be able to correct both my problems if some of these possibilities are true and it does what i think I need done if the signals are not correct. But thats a lot IFs I need some expertise.
BUT all the new stuff is canbus.
Im prertty sure the resister want fix it. dakota digital makes a canbus interface. It plugs into the obd2 port and gives u all your gauge read outs. Tach, speedo etc.
Speedhut has a set of these gauges as well.

Stewie - do you know if your tach is expecting a 5V signal or a 12V signal? Once that issue is resolved - and you've used the resistor (or not) - you should be good to go as it's a 4 cylinder tach to start with.
