Default Cl65 gets a lsx

(Trying again to get my project past the sites algorithm)
So I have a 2005 CL65 6.0L V12,TT. Nice when there newer, a huge pain when they get 100K on them. My car has 225K so I'm going to put a LS and a 4L60e. The truth is my experience is with mostly factory stock systems, LS1 and a simple tuned factory ECM. I don't have any experience with automatic transmissions. I can read
(LOL) but building a LS boosted is all new and I will come to the site humbled !!!! I did spend 25 years working in General Motors dealerships service departments as a "tune-up and drive-ability specialist dealing with the factory EFI, computer controls. Had a smog license as well.
The LS after-market is fairly new to me. So I will be reading and asking loads of stupid questions along the way.

The only real hassle I see is the steering gear. It looks like it might intrude into the left side of the engine. Maybe not... Also you might need to use a GTO oil pan with a front sump, unless the engine can sit far enough to the rear for a rear sump. All this is speculation, of course from an E-Z chair critic, LOL! Have fun, we'll all be watching, as it looks like it should be a really cool, and FAST car!

Thanks for your thoughts, I think the steering will be an issue as well, but as we all know "you don't know until you try it" I was looking at the mock up engine & trans peaces, but they don't give them away . They are $500 just for the engine half, seems steep. I would like to find one used ???

Find a junk LS engine, any size, and a 4L60E case. Both should be cheap. Then you have mockup material...

At least you're dealing with a rack and not the old recirculating gear boxes that all Mercs had for decades. They're REALLY in the way.

Funny how things come around - there's a guy in Germany/Netherlands on the Turbobricks Volvo site that's putting a Merc V12 into a 240 Volvo.
