Default Gen 6 BBC (24x) in a 96 Impala
I'm looking for help figuring out what tuning options I have for installing a 0411 ECU controlled Vortec 7400 BBC into a 96 Impala SS.
The engine is an L21 out of a 2000 school bus, which has a 24x crank reluctor, a cam sync dist, and CNP.

I got the engine and PCM. I have an older 4L80E, which I previously controlled with an LT1 PCM. I have TunerCat (JetDST) for OBD-2 for tuning. Short term plan is to install a mild cam (ZZ502?). Long term plan is to stroke it and swap to a manual trans. Which calibration file would be a good match for a 4L80E with a performance tune?

That sounds like a good idea. I did get the PCM with it, and I've been told it's an 0411.

Yeah, I think you could do a transmission segment swap with an express van with a 4l80e

If he already has the ECU that came with the engine, wouldn't he want to use that to control the engine and just swap segments to control the trans?

if the 411 pcm was for the BBC then yes, I assumed the PCM was from another vehicle.

There is some info on this combo on the EFILive site,as well as the GMT400 forum,one of these days I'll get around to swapping out my black box pcm for a 411 pcm on my 7.4/4L80E K2500.I have a few EFILive files saved,will send them your way if that helps.
