Extending Wiring Harness ?s.

I'm in the process of modifying a truck harness, I'm thinking of splicing some of the wiring in the middle on the wire(s) as needed, to keep the same color of wire at the beginning and end. Or should I get another harness, which is kind of hard to find, that isn't cut up before I get to it, then only have 1 solder joint.

just splice it and use adhesive heat shrink tube to make it reasonably weatherproof.

make sure you're doing a lineman splice too

Solder joints are not a problem unless you don’t know how to solder.

Go to a junkard and cut out part of the wiring harness. That way all wire colors and sizes are consistent. Thats what I did and the wires cost me like 6 buck from the pick n pull.
