I am building an exhaust system for my 65 Cutlass. The exhaust is going to be rigid and I need some stainless 2.5 and 3 inch flex connectors to allow for engine vibration and some flex. I see all kinds of brands and prices, lined and unlined. Who has experience with these things and what works the best and lasts the longest? I only want to do this once.
Thanks
Jarhead

I got mine from Columbia River http://www.mandrelbends.com/flex-tub...lex-tubes.html and they've been on the car now for 1 1/2 years and have held up well.

They're pre-turbo on mine so they're taking some abuse.

Mine are 2.5" Columbia River as well - welded up beautifully. Makes aligning/attaching the head pipe flanges to the manifolds SO much easier. I'm rubber mounted in back, but wanted that additional isolation from motor movement/vibration. Durability? No idea - 2 years old and perfect so far.

Thanks for the information. I noticed that lined and unlined versions are available. Any thoughts?

I should add - first exhaust I’ve done using these and I’ll never do a system again without them. To me they’re worth it just because they make aligning connection points so easy.

Plus, it looks like the system is flexible enough NOT to fatigue crack anything in the future, hopefully.

I've never had a problem with cracking without the flex couplers. Seems to be the turbo gangsters that have most of the cracking problems -- bigger temp swings, longer piping runs underhood with more thermal expansion, big turbo weight hung out on the end of manifolds with no support, etc.
