81 el Camino swap Hi I have a 1981 el Camino with a 305 350 transmission I’m looking at a 5.3 ls that I would like to put a turbo on it! What do I have to do as in putting the new motor in? Can I use my 350 transmission? What else I have to do?

I bought several books on this subject first and read them cover to cover. Then researched here. Read old posts. Sure, you can use your old transmission but there are tradeoffs. You will absolutely need to change the oil pan if that 5.3 came out of a truck. Your hood likely won't close over a truck intake manifold and that gigantic truck motor radiator fan will likely needed replacement with electric fans.
